Sally Mitlas is the owner of Mitlas Productions, LLC. Founded in 1997, Mitlas Productions provides film production and event entertainment. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, Ms. Mitlas is an accomplished film producer/director. In 2007 she produced and directed the award winning film ‘A Hero in Heaven’ which documents the life and tragic death of Staff Sergeant Michael Levin. This highly acclaimed film has won several awards, been featured in numerous film festivals and has been broadcast on television networks worldwide.
Ms. Mitlas combines her musical talents with her film production skills. An accomplished guitarist and vocalist, Ms. Mitlas is well respected in the performing arts community. She has been featured extensively at events including performances for President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, Baroness Margaret Thatcher, Commentator George Will, Producer Carl Reiner, Governor Ed Rendell, performing artist Theodore Bikel and performed at an inaugural gala in Washington DC for President Barak Obama on January 20, 2009. Ms. Mitlas has also performed in the former Soviet Union for Jewish communities in Moscow, Leningrad and Riga.
An award winning and published artist in the field of micrography, Sally Mitlas creates original art work utilizing a unique and treasured art form that was developed in the ninth century and has been preserved for generations. Micrography utilizes minute Hebrew letters to form representational geometric and abstract designs.
By combining her experience as a film producer with a passion for music and the arts, Ms. Mitlas has been able to touch, inspire, educate and motivate her audiences with a unique brand of filmmaking.
